Books from the library

Don't forget that LAL Torbay has a well-stocked bookshop and library on the first floor. We asked students who had borrowed or bought books to tell us what they thought of them.

Don't fear FCE

An anonymous student tells us that the Cambridge First Certificate exam (FCE) is not as scary as you may think: give it a try!

"While I have been staying here I haven't done my best to study English. But after starting the Cambridge class I study every day. I like the teacher and the class but I need some more practice. And I want to do something more challenging.

"I think FCE is not that difficult or hard to learn. So I'll study hard for the next three weeks, then I'll ask my teacher to change my level to CAE.
"Because I have to go back to Korea this year I don't have much time to study English. I should focus on my study for a short time to complete it. Therefore I want to study English much harder than before.
