Flexible start dates

By offering the option of starting any Monday of the year you can plan your studies according to your own needs. Start when it suits you!

As long as you want

You can follow the programme for a semester (12 weeks), for the full academic year (32 weeks) or even a calendar year, whatever best fits your work or study schedules. Study for as long as you can!

Standard and Premium choices

Choose between our Premium options (a maximum of 6 students per class) and our Standard classes. If you follow a Premium Long-stay programme in Torbay for 12 weeks or more you receive a personal tutor who will guide you towards your goals and advise on the best study options. In 2011 you will receive a netbook computer to keep, or in 2012 you will receive a £150 cash card to spend as you wish.

We give you regular tests so we know how effectively you are progressing and where improvements and extra attention are required.

We have a comprehensive university placement service to assist with the choice of and application process to the university of your choice.

Free upgrades

We will offer you free upgrades to business and examination classes (subject to level and availability) enabling you to collect internationally recognised certificates such as Cambridge FCE, CAE and CPE.

Our courses

Standard General: 15 hours English lessons per week, max 12/15 students per class, all levels, all year. Academic Long-stay General English courses at LAL Torbay offer 15 hours English language lessons per week. This course is ideal if you want plenty of free time to explore your chosen location and soak up the culture. Several add-on options are available whether you are looking for a more intensive programme, more individual attention, or some business-related tuition.
Standard Intensive: 22.5 hours English Lessons each week, max 12/15 students per class, all levels, all year. Our Academic Long-stay Standard Intensive English course with morning and afternoon lessons for students who are seeking to communicate more effectively in everyday situations and gain a sound understanding of the principles of the English language. Courses from 8 weeks +.
Premium General: 15 hours English lessons per week, 6 students per class, all levels all year. Premium General English courses at LAL Torbay offer 15 hours of English language lessons per week. This course is ideal if you want plenty of free time to explore your chosen location and soak up the culture. Students on this course for 12 weeks or more will be given a free 'netbook' compact notebook computer (2011) or £150 cash card (2012), which they can keep at the end of their course.
Premium Intensive: 22.5 hours English lessons per week, max 6 students per class, all levels, all year. This Long-stay Premium Intensive English course is for students who are seeking to communicate effectively in everyday situations and gain a sound understanding of the principles of the English language in smaller classes for 8 weeks or more. Free cash card for stays over 12 weeks.
