The first positive impression comes when you arrive at the hotel after a tiring flight and enter a chilled out atmosphere, introduced by the nostalgic purple colours of the interior and the ambient lighting and music. The next day, you find out how convenient the hotel is - it's close to the school and to all the city's sights.

The hotel staff is very helpful, friendly and attentive at all times. Any questions you have are answered quickly. Back to the interior - at first, the design looks surreal - lots of staircases and halls with sofas and cushions, but that's interesting! You feel like you are Alice in Wonderland!

The rooms are spacious, light and clean and the food - I'd like to mention the food especially - it is much more superior than a typical 3-star quality - I'd give it at least 4 stars! Special thanks to the cooks! There's a really wide menu, which caters for every taste, all the food is fresh and is definitely prepared with love!

All the hotel staff, from housekeeping and receptionists to managers take a lot of care in everything they do.

If it were in my power, I would definitely give the hotel another star to make it four! :)

The excursions which were arranged through the LAL leisure department were just wonderful! The tourist guides did a great job and made everything informative, interesting, which gave us another opportunity to practise English both actively and passively.

Special thanks to the leisure department manager, Diana, who has also been very positive, active and helpful! We didn't know she was so good at pool and other games! :)

The school's packed lunches (sandwiches) have also been good! They were freshly made with lots of vegetables and fruit!

To sum up, me, myself and my students felt really positive throughout our stay, which will help us during the cold winters in Russia - we'll have beautiful memories of our sunny days in Malta with LAL!

I have been in Malta for 6 weeks and it has been the best time of my life. At first the country appears to be too small, but really there is so much to do and a lot to see. There are people from all over the world so you can practice your English all day long.

IELS school has made my life easier in Malta. The lessons are so much fun so my English improves a lot. The people from the staff, like the teachers, managers, reception, leisure and welfare are the nicest people I have ever met in these kind of schools.

I really enjoyed studying English at this school. I had a great time in Malta. Class sizes were small, so I could ask a question anytime I wanted to. There are two points which made LAL perfect for me: firstly that I could change classes anytime I wanted to if I felt it was too easy or too hard and secondly that there are few Japanese students in Malta, so I could be completely immersed in English. The LAL staff and teachers are all really friendly too. Thank you!

    Private Tuition

We are a family from Germany. We are 50, 44, 11 and 8 years old. Next year we want to go to the USA, so we decided to try and improve our English. This meant that we, as the parents, had to go back to school after 25 years!

Our eleven year old daughter started learning English when she was nine. Her new secondary school offers a bilingual geography class. We hope she will be able to take part in it, as English is the most widely-spoken language in the world.

Our eight year old daughter will start learning English in her German school next September. We think that this is too late to start learning a language, so we wanted to give her a head-start by taking lessons in Malta.

We decided to book a course in Malta, because the weather is generally better than it is in England in the Spring. IELS in Sliema was excellent. We all had a private teacher, which meant we had to speak English all the time.

It was a good decision and we also had a lot of fun, because Malta is a very interesting place. We really enjoyed our time at IELS. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and we all learnt a lot in the lessons - our teachers were very patient.

We hope to come back again in the Autumn!

In my humble opinion IELS is a very nice place to study English. Firstly, the school is located in a very good place near the sea and not far from the centre of the city. It also has a very well-equipped building.

The teachers at the school are great and explain everything very simply and intelligibly. People from all over the world come to IELS to learn English and this is great because communication is the most important thing in the learning process. I am really pleased with my decision to study at IELS!

    Long Term (Academic)

Studying in Malta is perfect, especially for people who like the sun and want to study British English. When you go to LAL in Sliema for the first time, your first impression might be that the school is smaller than expected, but because of this, everyone is very kind and friendly. As I wanted to practise writing, my teacher said that if I wanted to, I could give him some written work everyday and he would check it. I did this a lot and I am really thankful to him! Thanks to everyone!
