LAL Fort Lauderdale is a modern, two storey learning centre sharing a property with our residence. The school is located only 10 minutes from the beach and 20 minutes from the trendy Las Olas Boulevard and the famous Fort Lauderdale Beach. A variety of restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets, shopping, banks and pharmacies are all within walking distance of the school.

LAL Fort Lauderdale has 19 classrooms including a dedicated exam preparation classroom, wireless internet throughout the school as well as a multimedia centre with free internet access. Students have access to a large social area where they can mix with students of different nationalities, play games on Xbox, enjoy a friendly game of table tennis, or watch a movie on the flat screen TV.

While studying at our English language school in Fort Lauderdale, you can explore the enchanting Florida Keys or the sub-tropical wetlands of the Everglades, enjoy numerous water sports or visit world famous landmark attractions such as the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, and Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando. 

Fort Lauderdale, also known as the Venice of the Americas, due to its intricate canal system, is home to over 40,000 resident yachts and 100 marinas and is considered one of the largest and popular yachting destinations in the world.

The school is located in a residential area, 20 minutes by public transportation north of downtown Fort Lauderdale.

    I've really enjoyed my classes here, I have made a lot of friends from around the world and it has been a really nice experience. It was really good to be able to share my culture with my classmates and we have dealt with some serious topics which has been very interesting. The experience will be very helpful for the rest of my life.

    Being here, I've had many chances to speak English with my teachers. They are great because they correct my errors when I speak English, which is really helpful. Their explanations are really clear too.

    All the LAL staff I have met here have been very nice to me and it was really easy to get my visa with their help.

    One of the best things about studying in Fort Lauderdale is the beautiful weather here - you can go to the beach after school every single day, like I did!

    I chose to come to LAL Fort Lauderdale because I knew that attending a general English course would help me improve my knowledge of such an important language.

    The LAL Fort Lauderdale classes have given me the opportunity to speak everyday to nice teachers and people from other countries that are also here to learn and improve.

    Now that I am here I am proud of the choice I made I can compare myself with other students at the same level and spending time with them everyday is the best way to learn English.

    My class has given me the chance to learn at an advanced level and this is so helpful for me in my future studies at a university and when I enter the working world, where English is becoming more and more important.

    I love my classes because I work with students from many parts of the world. My English has improved very much. Before I came, I was afraid to speak and now I feel very comfortable speaking English.

    I have gone on several excursions offered by the school: the Everglades National Park, Key West, and shopping centers. They were great.

    Exam Preparation

    Before coming here I decided to choose the extended intensive course because I had learned some English in school, but I was very “blocked” every time I tried to speak. Now, after 3 months here at LAL School in Fort Lauderdale I can say that it was a very good decision.

    When I arrived here I was in an upper-intermediate level, after one month thanks to the intensive course, I moved to the advanced level and began to speak more fluently. My course is divided into 3 classes, the first one focuses on grammar, the second focuses on vocabulary, speaking & reading and the third is a conversation class. Every month I change my teacher and this has been very helpful in understanding all different forms of the American accent.

    I came here to improve my English because I needed it for my job and I think I would even be ready for some certificate courses, such as Cambridge. I hope to someday continue my education in New York; earning a Masters Degree. This is my American dream!!
