I knew that attending this course would help me improve my knowledge of such an important language. The LAL Fort Lauderdale classes have given me the opportunity to speak every day to nice teachers and people from other countries that are also here to learn and improve. Now that I am here I am proud of the choice I made ... my class has given me the chance to learn at an advanced level and this is so helpful for me in my future studies at a university and when I enter the working world, where English is becoming more and more important.

I chose the private tuition course because I can learn conversation skills with my teacher. In a classroom, I would not have the one on one instruction that I feel I need to learn a different language. The level of learning isn’t different, but I am older and want to learn at my own pace. I am looking forward to returning to LAL next year and having the same teacher.

In my country of Korea, students start to learn English very early, but most students do not use the language enough and I realized that I needed to really study English harder for my university classes. After just 3 months here, I have met good teachers and friends and the weather is great. My English skill has improved because I could only say simple greetings and words when I first arrived. I learned a lot of skills in the month long TOEIC course, especially grammar and I got a high score on the exam. I have enjoyed my classes and my time here at LAL very much.

When I arrived here I was in an upper-intermediate level, after one month thanks to the intensive course, I moved to the advanced level and began to speak more fluently. My course is divided into 3 classes [grammar, reading, conversation]. I came here to improve my English because I needed it for my job and I think I would even be ready for some certificate courses, such as Cambridge. I hope to someday continue my education in New York; earning a Masters Degree. This is my American dream!

After my stay here at LAL Fort Lauderdale, I will start to study economics in Germany. The company that I hope to work for has plans to go international in the future. After my stay here I hope to be a Business-English speaking skilled economist, exactly what the company is looking to hire. Because the course is a mini-group there are only 6 people and it is much more intensive and doesn’t focus on grammar too much. It is nice to have so many different nationalities in my class because you can learn about other countries politics and economy.

I have been here for three months. I am in the General English class, which I really like because we are able to work with many different subjects which are often related to the many different cultures found here at school. I have chosen to live with a host family, so I can have a look behind the curtain of the normal, everyday American lifestyle. I have already made a lot of new friends here so when I return home I will have friends from all over the world. The school arranges a lot of different activities and trips and they always try to help you with your arrangements if you want to do something on your own.

I stayed in LAL Fort Lauderdale for four weeks and I really enjoyed it. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I had the opportunity to improve my English. I stayed with a host family who I liked. There were so nice to me! They helped me a lot with everything I needed. I was pleased to stay with them. This was my first time in Florida. There were so many things to do, so many places to visit. I was happy to do scuba dive here. Even divers who I dived with and who I had not known before were very helpful and friendly. It was amazing for me. I had a great time here!
