StopPress - The LAL Torbay students' magazine

January 2010

Andy Tyrrell, Editor of StopPress

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2010 at LAL Torbay.

With the school already busy with the welcome return of familiar faces and many new students all wanting to improve their English, we also proudly announce the opening of our new London school. It takes more than Arctic conditions Southern England to keep us from opening the schools - it’s business as usual all round.

For our first issue of the New Year we present you with an article on the history and culture of Prague, as well as a look at our neighbours along the coast in East Devon. Plus we look at words that have become popular in the 2000s, so you can tell the difference between your menoporsche and your muffin top.
