I have been Malta for 6 months and it has been a great time. I booked an academic year programme and it was really good value for money. The school offers a lot of facilities and activities. There are also many kinds of courses to choose from, such as general English, Intensive English, TOEFL, Cambridge Exams, Business English, etc. My teacher really cares about us, what we are thinking about and what we ar interested in, which motivates and encourages us to study. All IELS staff are like friends. Whenever you need them they are there to help you. My experience in Malta has been an enjoyable combination of studying and entertainment in a safe and relaxed Mediterranean country.
Before coming here I decided to choose the extended intensive course because I had learned some English in school, but I was very “blocked” every time I tried to speak. Now, after 3 months here at LAL School in Fort Lauderdale I can say that it was a very good decision.
When I arrived here I was in an upper-intermediate level, after one month thanks to the intensive course, I moved to the advanced level and began to speak more fluently. My course is divided into 3 classes, the first one focuses on grammar, the second focuses on vocabulary, speaking & reading and the third is a conversation class. Every month I change my teacher and this has been very helpful in understanding all different forms of the American accent.
I came here to improve my English because I needed it for my job and I think I would even be ready for some certificate courses, such as Cambridge. I hope to someday continue my education in New York; earning a Masters Degree. This is my American dream!!
Before I start talk about the English language courses, I should let you know a bit about myself. I am 27 years old and I had my last english lesson maybe nine years ago. In my business life I needn't to speak English every day. So I started in the b1 level (intermediate), after three weeks I was in the b2 level (upper intermediate) and I closed in the c1 level (advanced). I think that was a good job. I did my homework everyday and studied English very hard. Because of this I had only good results in the tests on Friday. But that was not only my credit, it was also thanks to the friendly and professional teachers at LAL London school. Not only the teachers but also the school staff has helped me every time when had questions and they were there for me in every situation when I needed support.
Many thanks for the great time, especially for the teachers who taught us very well. It was instructive all the time, helped me to improve my English knowledge and we learned with fun. It was made perfect by the many beautiful and interesting tours we took in Devon and Cornwall so I could combine my English study with holidays in a good way.
I had a very good experience studying at LAL London, the school has friendly staff and flexible learning. My teachers were good and I feel more confident to speak and write in English; I can now write work emails without using a translator!
I came to London in January with a friend and we are having an amazing time. I have met people from all around the world and I have opened my mind in a way that you can't imagine.
I also love LAL London, where I have improved my English a lot. The staff and teachers are really friendly and competent, when you have a question or problem, there is always somebody to help you.
The town of Twickenham is really welcoming and safe. There are a lot of shops near to the school, where you can buy a cooked meal if you don't like cooking. On the other hand, if you like cooking, you will find a wide choice of vegetable and meat in these shops. You can also enjoy some really nice pubs.
